Reality that cannot be seen in general extensive research
When you actually think about hiring strategies, you need to do a company survey for each industry.
Surveys in these three countries will lead to an understanding of "Technology areas that each country is focusing on".
Comparing only the average annual income, the Japanese company KEYENCE in the field of Factory Automation is actually the highest.
And if you drill down by industry, for example, if you compare "SNS", the main activity of Tencent in China, "By number of users worldwide" to Facebook (2,375 million people) from the U.S., WeChat (1,112 million people) from China, and LINE (217 million people) from Japan in 2019.
The average annual salary at Facebook's U.S. headquarters is about 16.52 million yen, and the company has 43,030 employees on a consolidated basis. The average annual salary at Tencent's Chinese headquarters is around 14 million yen with 60,860 employees on a consolidated basis. Actually, there is no big difference in average annual income and number of employees.
There are many differences between the general average survey and the actual situation of a particular industry or company.
"Understand both the head office and local branch" these differences is the first key to successful cross-border adoption.
Understanding of each culture, prices, annual income, length of service, and various tax rates is important.
US companies with high average annual income and diversity across a wide range of IT sectors
The difference is just $22,860 in between $148,069 that Microsoft earned on average salary, ranked 10th, and $170,929 that Palo Alto Networks earned on average salary in 2019, ranked the highest.
It also covers a wide range of fields, including semiconductor manufacturer, NVIDIA that is average salary, ranked second higher.
Besides, The CEOs of Google and Microsoft are from India, and the founders of NVIDIA are from Taiwan. The creation of an organization rich in diversity is also a major attraction, and I think it is a factor that makes global expansion successful.
Chinese Company’s Growth Speed, Pay Scale are expanding so much
The most watch point is the scale. For example, Tencent's 50,000 or more employees work in China, so an employee with an annual salary of around 14 million yen x 50,000 people would be enjoying Shenzhen life with a GDP per capita of around 3.2 million yen.
It’s not only is BAT (Baibu/Alibaba/Tencent) the same, BMD (ByteDance /Meituan /DiDi) is also catching up and overtaking and growing rapidly.
One of the largest markets in the world, with a population of more than 14 billion people, is evolving tremendously, even as a "Human resources market that produces outstanding young people around the world".
In Japan, the number of companies with over 200 years in business is the richest in the world, and Japanese companies respect long-term development.
Isn't the average salary of KEYENCE special in Japanese companies? If you feel like that, it’s definitely vomiting. However, the average annual income of FANUC in the same Factory Automation field is also higher than 13.64 million yen.
And the average length of service is long.
KEYENCE has been vomiting for more than 12 years and FANUC has been vomiting for more than 14 years compared to other countries. I don't know the official figures, but as far as I guess, the average length of service for American and Chinese companies is about 3 to 5 years.
Focus on human resource development to strengthen teamwork and place emphasis on long-term development. From this point as well, I can feel the characteristics of Japanese companies is richest in the world, which have more than 200 years of history.
The U.S. and Chinese companies has a lot of common points, but Japanese companies is special
I actually do business with Japanese, Western and Chinese companies, I personally feel that the U.S. and China companies have a lot of common points in terms of hiring strategy and organizational structure.
First of all, with the principle of continental business, domestic competition is fierce, there is no denying disparities, there is no fear of short-term work, and headhunt for an immediate workforce with a high annual income. And the annual income of Chinese companies is catching up with American companies. Although there are some differences and characteristics, but I think the general points are common to European companies.
And then, I think Japanese companies are special in the world.
In my opinion, there is no lifetime employment system in the global market.
owever Japanese company had been hiring on the premise of lifetime employment until recently, it’s one of special. I think such objective vision is necessary for us.
Attractiveness that is different from competitors, it’s important
I think it is important to take advantage of the specialty of "uniqueness" and change the way we think about how we can change and evolve in the future.
NVIDIA and KEYENCE are not at the top of their sales charts in their industry. That is why we are striving to acquire excellent human resources through "Attractiveness that is different from the competition" in which efforts are rewarded.
Open eye to understand the global market, find "unique strength of your company" from characteristics and differences with other companies.
Therefore, it is very important to build a recruiting strategy that conveys an attractive corporate culture. Please contact us.
